According to its website, SmartWritingService.com has been in business since 2006 and is located in London, providing academic writing for students. We have prepared this review as a part of our continuing efforts to analyze and evaluate online writing services. In conducting our evaluation we use all of the information that is available to us – the website content, Smart Writing Service testimonials, customer feedback that is found elsewhere on the Internet, and the results of our order of a college level research paper. Given all of the information, we can provide the following SmartWritingService review.

In reviewing the information housed on the website, we can conclude that this company provides only academic writing and that it provides that writing for students from high school through Ph.D. graduate programs. The site lists an almost complete list on its landing page, which include almost every type of academic writing that a student might be assigned. On the order page, however, a few other items are listed, including admissions essays and coursework assignments.

Smart Writing Service does not offer resume and CV services, nor any other type of professional or business writing.

Quality of Products/Writers

We assess quality by several factors, as follows:

1. The Quality of Writing found in the Website Content: The text on the site had some strange uses of vocabulary, indicating that perhaps a non-native English speaker had prepared it. Phrases such as, “the writer completes the theory” when referring to conducting research and “cope/paste” instead of “copy/paste.” We investigated a bit further and looked at several footer pages, only to find the same issues, as well as incorrect sentence structure.
2. SmartWritingService customer reviews: We search for reviews that are found on other sites and social media, and were able to find several. All students stated that they received their products on time, but there were some issues with format and language usage.
3. There are no Sample Writings on the Site so these could not be assessed.
4. The research paper we ordered was received on time and was the ordered length. However, we asked for articles from reputable journals and two of the resources were clearly inferior ones. We also found grammar errors in several places

With regard to services, there is a customer support center open 24 hours. We were able to get an answer to our phone call very early in the morning, so we suspect this is true.

We could find no SmartWritingService BBB activity.

Given the evidence, we can say that SmartWritingService is not a scam.

Prices and Ways of Payment

SmartWritingService.com prices fall with the lower end of average for academic writing services. The paper we order (8 pages; 7-day deadline) was $128.00. We were surprised to find no Smart Writing Service promo code for new customers. In fact we looked throughout the site for evidence of any type of SmartWritingService.com coupon codes, even for returning customers but were unable to locate any. Prices range from $10/page to $48/page dependent upon academic level and deadline.

On the landing page, it states that all major credit cards are accepted along with PayPal and Moneybookers. It appears that there is an SSL certified third-party payment processor, so customer information should be secure.

Discounts

As we stated, there are no SmartWritingService discounts of any kind offered.

Extra Treats

Like most other writing services, Smart Writing Service offers free title, bibliography, and table of contents pages. Beyond that, they do state that all writing is checked for plagiarism before customer delivery.

Final Note

In finalizing our review, we have considered all aspects of the company. In terms of SmartWritingService pros & cons, we can state that the company is operating legitimately and is providing academic writing services as it states. However, it appears that the site may be using foreigners for some of its writing. Overall we give a Smart Writing Service rating  of “Fair.”
